A Guide To Poughkeepsie (and the Hudson Valley)

For the 2023 season, Stockade FC will take up a temporary home at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. We hope you all will come visit our beautiful Hudson Valley and catch a game!

This guide is created and curated by the Dutch Guard with suggestions submitted by our members and Stockade FC volunteers.

Game Day Info

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or at http://www.stockadefc.com/tickets

Tickets are also available for purchase at the gate

Parking

Parking is to the west of the stadium (McCann) or to the north of the stadium (Donnelly). There is no tailgating in the Donnelly lot.

Accessible parking is available in the Donnelly lot.

Tailgate

Dutch Guard tailgate begins 3 hours before kickoff for most games (this is 3pm for most Stockade games). At Marist, we gather at the right side of the McCann lot.

All our tailgates are potluck, bring food and drink to share if you can. We occasionally have a grill that people are welcome to use we just ask that you help clean the grill if you use it.

Visiting fans are welcome to join us during our tailgates. We only ask that you give us a heads-up if you have a large group coming.

Keep an eye on our social media, we post game day information a few days before kickoff.

Dutch Guard Merch is available before the game only, up to 10 minutes before the march-in (this lets our volunteers enjoy the game and get some rest after!). We usually have scarves and stickers available in person but also have “made to order” merchandise available online from our Spreadshirt store, click here to view the store.

March In

We march in 30 minutes before kickoff (this is usually 5:30pm)

Grab a flag, help hold the banner, or just hold up your scarf and join the chants.

* Please note: we occasionally use pyrotechnics during the march in

For visiting supporters groups: If you plan to march, try to march before us. It makes it a lot easier for the volunteers at the gate and you’ll avoid the lines that tend to build up right before kickoff.

Transportation

Getting to the Stadium

By Car

Via Route 9 – Take US Route 9 to the intersection with 9G and Edvard Bech Dr. (this is the south gate at Marist, you will be able to see the stadium from the road). Turn onto Edvard Bech Drive. Parking is available either straight ahead (McCann/Sheehan Lot) or north of the stadium (Donelly Lot).

By Bus

From Kingston: UCat KPL bus route from Hannaford to Poughkeepsie Station. This is about a mile from the stadium

Within Dutchess County: Dutchess County Bus Transit routes stop near the campus on Fulton St. and at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital

By Train

Metro-North and Amtrak services are both available out of the Poughkeepsie Train Station. This is about a mile from the stadium. Please take note of the time the final train departs the station when you make your travel arrangements.

Flying in?

There is no direct service to Poughkeepsie however, there are options to fly into our regional airports or NYC.

Stewart Airport (SWF) is closest to Poughkeepsie but offers the least amount of flight options. Westchester (HPN) or Albany (ALB) are both further out but have service from multiple mainline and budget carriers. All 3 of these airports have car rental options but limited public transit.

You can also fly into any of the 3 major NYC airports and take the train to Poughkeepsie. The MTA has helpful guides to find your way to and from the city and the airport (LaGuardia, JFK, Newark). Tip: JFK has the most direct public transit options coming from the Hudson Valley.

Getting Around the Hudson Valley

While there are some very walkable towns and neighborhoods, for the most part, you will need to drive or use ride share to get where you’re going in the Hudson Valley.

Bus Transit: There is some bus service available within Dutchess County and Ulster County. Most of these services run within the City of Poughkeepsie and along Rt. 9 and Rt. 44 in Dutchess County. See information for Dutchess County and Ulster County here.
